Schedule Optimization
The problem
Cancellations and no-shows create gaps in your schedule. Empty slots = lost revenue. Most contractors either eat the loss or spend an hour calling around trying to fill the gap. By then it's too late.
How HomeBase solves it
When a cancellation happens, HomeBase instantly springs into action. It texts customers from your waitlist first (people who wanted an earlier slot), then reaches out to leads in the area who haven't booked yet: "Good news — we just had an opening tomorrow afternoon in your area. Want it?"
Priority-based filling
The AI prioritizes who to contact based on: proximity to the cancelled job (minimize drive time), job value (higher-value jobs first), lead age (older leads more likely to be lost if not contacted now), and customer lifetime value (repeat customers get priority). This means your schedule stays full with the most profitable work.
Route optimization
HomeBase also looks at your daily schedule as a whole. If you have a job at 9 AM in the north side of town and 3 PM in the south side, it tries to fill the gap with work that's geographically logical — minimizing drive time and maximizing billable hours.
The result
Contractors using schedule optimization fill 70–80% of cancellation gaps that would otherwise be lost. For a business with 2–3 cancellations per week, that's 8–10 recovered jobs per month — easily $4,000–10,000 in revenue that would have disappeared.
